Delete your GoStox account

You can request deletion of your GoStox account and all associated personal data at any time. We comply with the GDPR Right to Erasure (Article 17) and remove your data promptly.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — In-app (from GoStox version 1.x onward)
Once the in-app delete flow is live:
- Open the GoStox app on your iPhone or Android device
- Go to Settings → Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm by typing
DELETE (English) or LÖSCHEN (German)
- Re-authenticate if prompted
- Your account and data are removed immediately
Option 2 — By email (available now)
Send a deletion request to privacy@gostox.app from the email address linked to your GoStox account. Include:
- Your GoStox username (if you remember it)
- A brief statement: "Please delete my GoStox account and all associated personal data."
We confirm the request and complete the deletion within one month (GDPR Art. 12(3)).
What gets deleted
- Your profile, username, email, and settings
- All game history and match records (Duell + Card Battle)
- Friends list and social connections
- Virtual portfolio, watchlists, and learning progress
- Badges, achievements, streaks, and spaced-repetition history
- Your position on the global leaderboard
- Stored authentication tokens (Google, Apple)
What we may retain (limited)
We may keep a minimal amount of data where required by law:
- Subscription / transaction records — retained up to 10 years per § 257 of the German Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch)
- Rolling backups — data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 35 days after the primary deletion
- Anonymised analytics — aggregated usage metrics that can no longer be associated with you
We do not retain your personal profile, content, or identifiable data beyond what is legally required.
About your subscription
If you have an active paid subscription:
- The subscription will continue until the end of your current billing period
- It will not auto-renew after that
- To cancel immediately, manage your subscription directly in App Store settings (iOS) or Google Play settings (Android) — we cannot cancel store subscriptions on your behalf
Third-party data removal
When you delete your account, we also:
- Revoke your Sign in with Apple token (if used)
- Revoke your Google OAuth token (if used)
- Detach your RevenueCat subscription profile from your identity
- Remove your pseudonymous identifiers from Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
